Home tip for removing dental tartar yourself

It’s important to note that removing dental tartar (calculus) yourself at home is not recommended. Tartar is a hardened plaque that forms on teeth and can only be effectively and safely removed by a dental professional. Attempting to remove tartar at home without the proper tools and knowledge can lead to dental damage, gum irritation, or other oral health issues.

However, there are steps you can take at home to prevent tartar buildup and maintain good oral hygiene:

1. Brush your teeth thoroughly: Brush your teeth at least twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristle toothbrush. Use gentle, circular motions and pay attention to all tooth surfaces, including along the gumline.

2. Floss daily: Flossing helps remove plaque and food particles from between the teeth and along the gumline. Be sure to floss gently and thoroughly.
